October

It seams like October has come and gone just like that!  My goal is to try harder at taking more pictures when we go out and about, so this post wont be that interesting for some, its more for my records. October and November is major hunting season for our family.  Moving to Alberta has made it so easy since Matt's parents have a ton of hunting land where they live.  (which just happens to be 10 minutes away from where we live).  I've decided to give hunting a chance, mostly to be able to spend more time with my hubby.  What's that moto? if you cant beat him, join him...anyways i've gone 3 times.  Its nice to be  one with nature, you have to be sooo quiet and not move much, which is a nice change from my daily running after and yelling at Parks:)  Its not 'rut' time yet, so the deer and elk aren't really moving around a whole lot.  It can get pretty boring.  We  did have 39 HUGE elk about 100 some yards away from us one time, that was absolutely incredible.  They are beautiful animals.  Matt has since shot a moose and doe with his bow.  His dad has gotten an elk, so we are deffinately set for meat for the year.  Extra goes to people in need that we know, so none will go to waste.  Besides that, living here in Okotoks has been fine.  Matt has been home on most of his off days for the past month instead of working construction because we are pretty sure he has a slipped disc in his back or something, he is in a lot of pain with that.  He gets an MRI next week to see if he needs surgury or not.  Parks is almost 22 months old in a few more days.  He is so smart.  We started the whole potty training thing when he was 19 months old, and now he is a pro.  He now wants to do it myself and not tell us!  Its pretty funny cuz he ends up peeing everywhere, but usually he'll run up to us and sign and say 'potty, potty, potty'.  If he has to go at night, he'll yell for one of us and than go back to sleep afterwards.  Its awesome.  He talks so clear now too.  He's become such a little person.  In 2 more days Parks and I are flying to Ottawa for 2 weeks!  We are both so excited.  Matt will be staying home with Ammo and be very busy at his new hall, that just changed as of today.  He has been at a very quiet station for the past 3 months in the North end of Calgary and is now going to #1 station in Downtown Calgary that apparently is the second most busy station in Calgary.  He is so happy about that.  Plus his brother Paul is coming down from Utah (also a firefighter) to hunt on days off.  It works out perfectly.

Halloween turned out to be a great night for Parks, he actually allowed us to put on his Thomas costume that he has been terrified of for the past month.  Matt's parents came over to help give out candy.  Matt and I took Parks to about 6 houses, and he did so well with saying 'trick or treat' although sometimes he'd just say 'candy please'.  Everyone thought he was so cute:o)  Than there are some idiots who like to wear terrifying masks and/or jump out of boxes with scary masks on even though they can clearly see how young Parks is...that's why we had to end early as too many things started scaring him.  All and all it was a great 1st Halloween for him.  ( Our camera was broken, so the halloween costume pic was taken on a later day).

Family Photoshoot...

Once upon a time we decided to do a family photoshoot...

I dont know who was worst, Parks not smiling or Ammo not staying!!

Most stubborn dog EVER!

Not impressed at all by the photoshoot, but he was very patient:)

We tried sooo hard to get Parks to smile, he usually smiles when he says, "chicken", but today he decided to sign it...ofcorse.

This is as good as it gets with our busy little family.

Not a Baby Anymore!

Parks is now 20 months old. He will be 2 in January! He talks so well, he'll pretty much repeat any word we say. Its pretty funny. We've made sure that he has mastered his please, thank you and sorry. Those are so important! He uses them really well. He is growing up so fast. You have to be a parent to understand that one. He no longer has a bottle (which i miss), deffinately no soothers (those were a headache trying to find) and now almost ready for no more diapers! (once he remembers to do ALL of #2 on the potty:))hehe Parks is our little angel. Dont get me wrong he knows what a timeout is...it's the longest minute of his life:) But luckily he hasn't reached the tantrum stage. He loves being outside, exploring, bike rides and swimming are the top 3. He still sleeps all night:) I can remember when he was 6 months old and i was crying outside his bedroom door, listening to him cry himself to sleep...it was the best thing i could have done for him and me. All thanks to Matt holding me back ofcorse. Now as long as he has 2 blankets, his 2 toy construction 'boys' and a pillow he goes to sleep without even making a fuss:)and always has. I know, i'm bragging but i'm just so happy with our little guy. These days he is daddy's little buddy. Matt has turned him into a brave little boy. His favorite thing to say is 'be tough' and shows his muscles. When Matt leaves for work it is not a happy time, but he'll say 'daddy firetruck' afterwards and somehow that makes it ok:)
